Why Ask Why?

For whatever reason, back when I was in college in the late 90’s, early 2000’s, I used “whyaskwhy” as my password to everything. I honestly don’t remember why the phrase intrigued me so much. Those were my rebellious years and I remember being very angry all time (Limp Bizkit was my go-to music choice at that time). I suppose the phrase could’ve brought me a feeling of throwing my hands up in defeat – a “why bother” type of vibe.

So recently when I listened to this podcast about embracing uncertainty, I found a possible reason for my angst-y choice of passwords. It wasn’t conscious, of course; and it may not be connected at all. But I realized, I’ve been asking “Why?” ever since my first panic attack during that same time period. I’ve come to find out that asking why is simply asking for certainty. I swear, I’m allergic to uncertainty. I’d say most of us are, aren’t we?

I’ve been trying desperately to figure it all out for so long, so I never have to feel that panic again. I’ve always wanted to help others along the way, as well. That’s what this blog is all about. It’s an effort to turn my suffering into something good; to share what I’ve learned the hard way, so hopefully I can save you save you the trouble. That’s what I’m all about. I hope you’ll find something of value here.
